Editor’s Notes: Autumn means sweater time, pumpkin spices up everything and Peanuts TV specials. Swatch’s new collection of Peanuts watches is not actively riffing It’s the big pumpkin, Charlie Brown Where A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving but he’s kicking off between the big fall holidays, so now is the time (no pun intended).

Apparently there are 45 Peanuts promotions there but only a couple really question. I mean, they’re probably all good, but only a handful of those movies have become annual rituals.

Still, Charles Schulz’s iconic comic is a subject very worthy of collaborative drops.

Of Marc Jacobs abundant japanese watches, there is apparently nothing like too much Peanuts.

With this in mind, Swatch has concocted a sextet of themed timepieces loaded with adorable images. You have Lucy and Schroeder at her piano, Snoopy and Woodstock, a full comic book series and, of course, good old charlie brown himself.

There is bio-based plastic in the case and the glass, but the most interesting features are all those little touches incorporated into each watch. For example, the baseball team themed watch has a small baseball and a glove on its hands.

Peanuts is such a ingrained element in American culture that I feel like comics are almost secondary to the franchise’s appeal to the mass market. When was the last time you read a Peanuts undress, anyway (it’s your reminder to catch up)?

It’s funny to see the extent of Charles Schulz’s creation against equally marketable funny pages like Garfield. Even in the midst of the multitude of goods, Peanuts still feels gently serious.

I doubt we feel the same for each Peanuts collaboration in the market but I doubt that I will ever tire of seeing Charlie Brown at rest or a Snoopy frolicking. This is probably the next best thing.
